Applied Electronic Commerce (AEC)

Applied Electronic Commerce is an Australian based company, operating globally, addressing the application of the internet and global standards for trade facilitation to international trade.

As preferred project managers to Tradefacilitate Ltd Paper-Free Cross Border Trade Facilitation AEC is sought by regional trade facilitation bodies to assist SME's and developing economies achieve benefits from 'paper free' cross border trade facilitation.

Legislation by the EU, USA and China will require that data about cross border trade is provided electronically with pre-approvals being required before cargo can move from the source of export

AEC is working with Tradefacilitate Ltd globally to show best-practice and provide "knowledge-transfer" in 'paper free' trade facilitation.

AEC and Tradefacilitate Ltd successfully completed project 'Eureka' in 2008; the first 'paper free' shipment of wine from Australia to the EU

AEC MD Ian Watt was nominated by the Australian Industries Group (Ai Group) to chair the Ai Group Australia-Taiwan ICT Cluster: SmartTrack and HealthTrack Projects Consortium.

UNECE UN/ESCAP (Bangkok) has nominated AEC's MD as a foundation member of the UN Network of Experts on Trade Facilitation  UN/NExT

AEC's founder and managing director contributes to the ongoing work of the UN/ECE and UN/CEFACT having previously held the roles (2005-2008) of Head of Delegation to UN/CEFACT Australia, and Chair of the UN/CEFACT International Supply Chain (Buy/Ship/Pay) Reference Model workgroup
